MODERATE
Marketable Open Data Solutions for Optimized Building-Related Energy Services
Start date: 01.06.2022
Duration: 48 months
Coordinator: EURAC Research
Budget: 5.5 M€
Details
The ever-increasing use of building monitoring and control systems has created an opportunity for data-driven ap- proaches in the entire construction sector. At the same time, interaction and interoperability among data platforms remain a challenging issue.
MODERATE will formalize a set of procedures and techniques that enable building owners, policymakers, facility managers, utility companies, etc., to openly share their data, gain insights, and make decisions while complying with regulations such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Moreover, MODERATE will enable uniform access to heterogeneous data sources on buildings' performance, usually dispersed in several non-interoperable data silos.
MODERATE's platform employs a set of components and techniques such as open-data nodes, data-synthetization and -augmentation algorithms, and data-driven services for improved building performance. The composition of such elements will allow the users of MODERATE's platform to bridge the gap between data and wise decision-making. MODERATE's approach allows overcoming barriers that prevent more robust and consistent monitoring of building performance, better-informed decision process, reliable smart energy services, effective sharing of datasets from multiple sources, more effective implementation of EU policies.
